Sometimes you spend your whole day searching through tunes without finding any that fit your exact mood. Today was one of those me for. After a super busy Saturday of “do good-ing”, I was looking for stuff that would give me a bit of a lift but also not in my face about it. After skipping around a dozen or so tunes, nothing really hit the groove I was looking for. Color me under whelmed. Enter this week’s NAPCast.
A staple of the Indy scene, Sean Newnum is giving us a warm up for some of the great shows coming through the Midwest this month. Lush liquid soul all the way through. The kind you just close your eyes and sway around to as the pretty strings, accent vocals and the roll of grooving bass carry you along. Big up to the Random Movement remix of “Achemical State” by Ted Ganung. Fingers crossed Random Movement drops this one at the Mel on November 10th (wink wink, clear your schedules). Other notable favorites of the liquid world with tunes from Lenzman, Calibre, Bailey and that Dave Owen chap (the last two we’re be catching up in Chicago November 19th, hit us up if you wanna tag along) round out this mix with so many vibes, you may not be able to handle them all. Much respect to Sean for putting down a wonderful warm mix that definitely hit the sweet spot of the melty vibes I needed.
