Gangstas what up!? I JUST now woke up from my Turkey coma on this fine Sunday night. Just kidding! I worked at the mall on Gobble day and Black Sabbath Friday. It actually wasn’t as bad as you’d expect but I also didn’t work 19 hours straight for days in a row like my boss. So there’s that. Anyway, I hope everyone else did more pleasant things than work the last 3-4 days. Since you’re here, you know we’re givin’ you a little more to feast on today, right?
Comin’ in hot with NAPCast 130 is new kid on the block, SoulEye. While he’s not new to the ART of DJing, he is new the act of performing for others in avenues such as this. This mix is a solid collection of varying layers of atmospheric, raw, and ominous dnb with flecks of soulful r&b liquid just to keep it interesting. SoulEye seriously had me comin’ and goin’ from the jump on this one. I thought for sure I was going to get this lovely little liquid number and instead I got the soundtrack to a dystopian society movie that I was directing in my head while listening. Earlier today I was getting my leaf raking on to some Alix Perez and Halogenics which was full of crunchy, mechanical and pitch black dark tunes that sounded like how a panic attack feels, so SoulEye’s 30 minutes was the perfect accompaniment to the mindset the previous mix put me in. Don’t worry, it’s not all “Big Brother’s watching” and feeling like you’re running through an actual jungle. There’s a light at the end of the tunnel in the form of that soulful R&B liquid I mentioned earlier. Let it flow over the sick burn SoulEye’s track selection is gonna leave behind with this one!
