This mix was released via CD at several Indianapolis events during the month of April as a tribute to a time where music wasn’t shared so easily. A time when physical contact was almost required to connect with something brand new. Bumping into a stranger at a show and being handed a mix tape or heading to the record store to grab the newest releases. This incredibly powerful force we all call music required us to get up off the couch and GET INVOLVED. If you enjoy this mix, look up your local drum & bass DJs and try to attend a live show in the upcoming year. I wanted to reward the folks who came out to support the great local scene we have here in Indiana. Who knows, maybe you’ll find some more great new music. 🙂
BIG shouts to my fans who got early release CDs or heard a sneak peek during my radio show on www.BoostFM.com April 16th.
I dedicate this mix to the folks who come out to my shows and tune into my weekly show. Without you, I’d have given up a long time ago.
This Monday, we’ve got a mix from another veteran of Indianapolis Drum & Bass, the mysterious -G-. This DJ never fails to bring a generous offering of raw emotion to every set he prepares for his audience. Holding true to that tenet, NAPCast 009 is a lesson in how Drum & Bass can not only move your feet, but it can also pierce the soul. Expect deep vibes on this one, folks.
This week we’ve got a mix that comes from a DJ that has seen some time in Indianapolis, but calls Terre Haute his home. Of course, we can only be referring to Kryzma. Getting booked at both Broke(n) Tuesdays at The Melody Inn and Altered Thurzdaze at The Mousetrap, this DJ brings the drum & bass heat wherever he plays!
This week brings us a mix of smooth vibes and summer tunes from DJ NuM3RiK. This versatile DJ has been into drum & bass since 1999 and never stops digging to find the deepest cuts to share with his audience. Whether it’s hard-hitting dancefloor stompers or a collection of smooth liquid drum & bass, you can always expect NuM3R1K to bring the party wherever he plays.
NAPCast 004 brings us a slice of liquid drum & bass that’s sure to compliment the summer months nicely with tracks from artists like Technicolor, Lenzman, Calibre, Total Science, and Soulculture.
You can find him next at The Melody Inn on July 8th for the NAP DNB Broke(n) Tuesdays takeover event. NuM3R1K will be tagging with fellow junglist, DJ Hollow Point for their first ever live performance together, so don’t miss it!
Tonight Broke(n) Tuesdays at the Melody Inn is playing host to three great performers including stateside drum-n-bass aficionado Sinistarr of Metalheadz fame. It is a free show with local support from Naptown heavy weights Kodama and Steady B. If you’ve been looking for an introduction into the Midwest’s burgeoning footwork-jungle scene, tonight should give you a solid perspective on how the new genre blends the production techniques of drum-n-bass with the erratic sampling of juke. Peep Sinistarr’s mix below of a taste of what you can expect tonight!
Lineup and full event details below the cut!
This week features our first female junglist in our NAPCast Series. If you’ve spent any amount of time in the Chicago drum & bass scene, then the name DJ Bumblebee should ring a few bells. This mix includes tracks that span the gamut of drum bass, so get comfortable and enjoy the breakbeat breakfast served up by NAP DNB.
Up next in our NAPCast series is a mix from a DJ who’s name you probably don’t associate with drum & bass. Jin-XS has made a name for himself in Indianapolis for being a DJ of all flavors. Whether it’s Moombahton, Hip-Hop, Industrial, House, Big Beat, or Downtempo the bottom line is: It doesn’t matter. Jin-XS can deliver a top-quality set for any situation and make it look easy.
